That demo made its way to RCA in New York, and the band got the recording contract they had so long wanted and needed. After pulling together what they felt was a superior selection of songs, earmarked for their debut album, they started to feel that the name Warrior didn't represent their sound and the change was then made to White Wolf.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"727\" data-end=\"959\"\u003eRecording their debut album \u003cem data-start=\"755\" data-end=\"771\"\u003eStanding Alone\u003c\/em\u003e (produced by \u003cstrong data-start=\"785\" data-end=\"799\"\u003eDanny Lowe\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong data-start=\"804\" data-end=\"823\"\u003eJack Richardson\u003c\/strong\u003e), the band received a good amount of airplay in Canada and in certain places in the US, including Cleveland, Philadelphia and New York.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"961\" data-end=\"1334\"\u003eSadly, an administrative error with visas left the band unable to play a smattering of US shows which had been booked. However, they eventually made it to the US and played various gigs, including dates in Texas with Australian rockers \u003cstrong data-start=\"1197\" data-end=\"1211\"\u003eAngel City\u003c\/strong\u003e. After a handful of gigs back at home in Canada, plans were made to record a follow-up album, so the pressure was back on.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-start=\"1336\" data-end=\"1652\"\u003eReleased at the end of 1984, \u003cem data-start=\"1365\" data-end=\"1381\"\u003eStanding Alone\u003c\/em\u003e — by today's standards — sold well, and it may only have been the cancelled dates and the lack of a long tour with a major band that held them back.
