A quick scan at some of the featured artists showcases a line up of legends - eighties rap sensation \u003cstrong\u003eSchooly D\u003c\/strong\u003e sitting alongside \u003cstrong\u003ePrimal Scream\u003c\/strong\u003e mainstay \u003cstrong\u003eBobby Gillespie\u003c\/strong\u003e and John’s recently departed punk hero \u003cstrong\u003eAlan Vega\u003c\/strong\u003e - even \u003cstrong\u003eRoxy Music\u003c\/strong\u003e’s saxophonist and founder member \u003cstrong\u003eAndy Mackay\u003c\/strong\u003e makes an appearance. And while John’s electronic alter ego Mekon is always on hand to remix and arrange, he’s far from the only producer behind the proverbial wheel. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e“It’s stuff I had lying around and now I am finding ways to get it out of my system,” he says. “It’s all been brought to the world with brilliant new artwork by \u003cstrong\u003eIsabelle de Jour\u003c\/strong\u003e, who also features on various tracks.”\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eGosling is well known as a member of both \u003cstrong\u003ePsychic TV\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003eCoil\u003c\/strong\u003e (for the album \u003cem\u003eTransparent\u003c\/em\u003e). Gosling founded the groups \u003cstrong\u003eZos Kia\u003c\/strong\u003e with \u003cstrong\u003eJohn Balance\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003eBass-o-Matic\u003c\/strong\u003e with \u003cstrong\u003eWilliam Orbit\u003c\/strong\u003e before recording as \u003cstrong\u003eMekon\u003c\/strong\u003e. He has also remixed under the name \u003cstrong\u003eSugar J.\u003c\/strong\u003e And that’s before we get to the fact that he has soundtracked some of the most forward-thinking fashion shows in the world - crafting the soundscapes for \u003cstrong\u003eAlexander McQueen\u003c\/strong\u003e shows since the show \u003cem\u003eDante\u003c\/em\u003e in 1996. Firstly working hand in hand with the late great \u003cstrong\u003eLee “Alexander” McQueen\u003c\/strong\u003e, then with his successor \u003cstrong\u003eSarah Burton\u003c\/strong\u003e. In the mid-to-late-nineties he was a core member of the group \u003cstrong\u003eAgent Provocateur\u003c\/strong\u003e along with \u003cstrong\u003eMatthew Ashman\u003c\/strong\u003e (originally of Bow Wow Wow), \u003cstrong\u003eDan Peppe\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003eDanny Saber\u003c\/strong\u003e (of Black Grape) and \u003cstrong\u003eCleo Torez\u003c\/strong\u003e. He has also worked with artists such as \u003cstrong\u003eRoxanne Shanté\u003c\/strong\u003e ('\u003cem\u003eYes Yes Y'All\u003c\/em\u003e'), \u003cstrong\u003eMarc Almond\u003c\/strong\u003e ('Delirious'), and \u003cstrong\u003eAfrika Bambaataa\u003c\/strong\u003e. His third album “\u003cem\u003eSomething Came Up\u003c\/em\u003e” featured artwork by \u003cstrong\u003eAlexander McQueen\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eJohn is as passionate about \u003cstrong\u003eSuicide\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003eAlan Vega\u003c\/strong\u003e and what he describes as “the new stuff”. Besides, he says, “that’s how people listen to music now. I think kids – my kids anyway – listen right across the board. People don’t see genres anymore.
