Billy and James had played respectively in \u003cstrong\u003eThe Milkshakes\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003eThe Prisoners\u003c\/strong\u003e, often sharing the same bill in the early 80's, leading to Billy's blues ensemble \u003cstrong\u003eThe Natural Born Lovers\u003c\/strong\u003e being the support act for the early shows of \u003cstrong\u003eThe James Taylor Quartet\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe Guy Hamper Trio\u003c\/strong\u003e is: \u003cstrong\u003eBilly Childish\u003c\/strong\u003e on guitar, his wife \u003cstrong\u003eJulie\u003c\/strong\u003e on bass and \u003cstrong\u003eWolf\u003c\/strong\u003e on drums - who as it happens was the drummer in the original incarnation of \u003cstrong\u003eJTQ\u003c\/strong\u003e - and of course features \u003cstrong\u003eJames Taylor\u003c\/strong\u003e on Hammond organ. The Guy Hamper Trio provide a bottom end, Blues-influenced instrumental mayhem for those unafraid of dirt, germs and true grime. With no particular wish other than to be recognised as the best at playing badly, they refuse to obey the usual rules of combat and music.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTheir first 45 (Polygraph Test \/ Sally Sensation) was released in 2009, followed by a full-length studio album, '\u003cem\u003eAll The Poisons In The Mud\u003c\/em\u003e', appearing, as if by magic, in 2022, followed by six 7\" singles (via Damaged Goods and Spinout Nuggets), and also four further full-length albums.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis handsome record includes '\u003cem\u003eMary Mary\u003c\/em\u003e' on the opening face, with Face B including '\u003cem\u003eType 2 Error\u003c\/em\u003e'.
