Laurence Jr.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDespite the involvement of two members of Blondie, \u003cem\u003eMiami\u003c\/em\u003e was no pop-punk concoction, but rather a further exploration of the neo-swamp blues Pierce and company had mined on \u003cem\u003eFire Of Love\u003c\/em\u003e, though Stein's production made Pierce's toxic musical stew a little easier to swallow.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eMiami\u003c\/em\u003e didn't get its proper due back in the day, but was hugely impactful.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eBilly Idol\u003c\/strong\u003e said the closing track \u003cem\u003e“Mother Earth”\u003c\/em\u003e was a key influence on his 1982 hit \u003cem\u003e“White Wedding.”\u003c\/em\u003e While The Gun Club went on to inspire such artists as \u003cstrong\u003eChris Isaak\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003eThe White Stripes\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003eMark Lanegan\u003c\/strong\u003e, the band also highlighted their own influences on \u003cem\u003eMiami\u003c\/em\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe album includes a howling take on \u003cstrong\u003eCreedence Clearwater Revival\u003c\/strong\u003e's \u003cem\u003e“Run Through The Jungle”\u003c\/em\u003e, a revved-up version of the traditional folk song \u003cem\u003e“John Hardy”\u003c\/em\u003e, and a Cramps-like rendition of \u003cstrong\u003eJ.R.
