Terry Farley a founding editor of Boy's Own magazine and regular acid house DJ who'd collaborated with \u003cstrong\u003eAndrew Weatherall\u003c\/strong\u003e mixed the album.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNot only was competing at the highest level on an independent label hugely unusual at the start of the 90s, '\u003cem\u003eSpartacus\u003c\/em\u003e' had to see off competition from the current No.1 \u003cstrong\u003eChris Rea\u003c\/strong\u003e's '\u003cem\u003eAuberge\u003c\/em\u003e' and \u003cstrong\u003eThe KLF\u003c\/strong\u003e's '\u003cem\u003eWhite Room\u003c\/em\u003e'. It was to be an Ibiza clubbing documentary The Farm had been prominently featured in, '\u003cem\u003eA Short Film About Chilling\u003c\/em\u003e' that helped get '\u003cem\u003eSpartacus\u003c\/em\u003e' all the way to No.1 - a feat that bands like \u003cstrong\u003ePrimal Scream\u003c\/strong\u003e, Happy Mondays, \u003cstrong\u003eEMF\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003eElectronic\u003c\/strong\u003e, and even \u003cstrong\u003eU2\u003c\/strong\u003e's '\u003cem\u003eAchtung Baby\u003c\/em\u003e' had failed match in 1991.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e1991 saw The Farm selling out live shows, appearing on TV and featuring on the covers of the NME, The Face, Vox, Sounds and Record Mirror with '\u003cem\u003eSpartacus\u003c\/em\u003e' making 'Album of the Month' in Select and included in the NME and Vox magazine's '50 Albums of 1991' lists.
