A veritable immersion in the mythical sound of Kingston studios in the late 1970s. Dub master \u003cstrong data-end=\"825\" data-start=\"806\"\u003eRoberto Sánchez\u003c\/strong\u003e sublimates the work of the Roots Architects with wildly inventive sound experiments—reminiscent of the finest years of \u003cstrong data-end=\"959\" data-start=\"945\"\u003eKing Tubby\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong data-end=\"984\" data-start=\"961\"\u003eLee \"Scratch\" Perry\u003c\/strong\u003e, and \u003cstrong data-end=\"1003\" data-start=\"990\"\u003eScientist\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp data-end=\"1826\" data-start=\"1006\"\u003eThe project is the brainchild of Swiss keyboardist and producer \u003cstrong data-end=\"1089\" data-start=\"1070\"\u003eMathias Liengme\u003c\/strong\u003e. In 2013, he travelled to Kingston, Jamaica, to produce \u003cem data-end=\"1163\" data-start=\"1146\"\u003eThe Inspirators\u003c\/em\u003e project, an all-star album gathering \u003cstrong data-end=\"1231\" data-start=\"1201\"\u003eLeroy “Horsemouth” Wallace\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong data-end=\"1248\" data-start=\"1233\"\u003eLloyd Parks\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong data-end=\"1273\" data-start=\"1250\"\u003eEarl “Chinna” Smith\u003c\/strong\u003e, and \u003cstrong data-end=\"1295\" data-start=\"1279\"\u003eSangie Davis\u003c\/strong\u003e, the four of them acting both as musicians and vocalists. This first experience in Kingston studio life paved the way for what would become the Roots Architects project. In February and March 2017, Mathias Liengme travelled for the fifth time to Kingston to record as many of reggae’s greatest living veteran musicians as he could. With the help of a few of these Architects like \u003cstrong data-end=\"1694\" data-start=\"1680\"\u003eRobbie Lyn\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong data-end=\"1713\" data-start=\"1696\"\u003eFil Callender\u003c\/strong\u003e, and \u003cstrong data-end=\"1736\" data-start=\"1719\"\u003eDalton Browne\u003c\/strong\u003e, he managed to gather over 50 session musicians aged 60 to 85 on nine instrumental songs.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp data-is-only-node=\"\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-end=\"1957\" data-start=\"1828\"\u003eThe scale is staggering, but the result is as focused and spiritual as any great dub record should be.
