Back in the 60s Noel had formed \u003cstrong\u003eThe Jazz Heralds\u003c\/strong\u003e, a quintet influenced by Miles Davis, Horace Silver and The Jazz Messengers. The Heralds included \u003cstrong\u003eRock Fox\u003c\/strong\u003e (tpt.) and \u003cstrong\u003eJim Farley\u003c\/strong\u003e (a.sax), here replaced by \u003cstrong\u003eMike Nolan\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003eKeith Donald\u003c\/strong\u003e. OZONE features three Kelehan originals - \u003cem\u003eSpacer's Delight\u003c\/em\u003e, \u003cem\u003eI Only Have Time To Say I Love\u003c\/em\u003e \u003cem\u003eYou\u003c\/em\u003e, and \u003cem\u003eTriers Not Fliers\u003c\/em\u003e, as well as a sublime reworking of the traditional air \u003cem\u003eThe Castle Of Dromore\u003c\/em\u003e. There are two originals from \u003cstrong\u003eMike Nolan\u003c\/strong\u003e - \u003cem\u003eOne For Willie\u003c\/em\u003e, and \u003cem\u003eSpon Song\u003c\/em\u003e which he wrote for my band \u003cstrong\u003eSPON\u003c\/strong\u003e, a ten- piece of the period. In fact Mike, Keith and of course The Wad, drummer \u003cstrong\u003eJohn Wadham\u003c\/strong\u003e were founder-members of each band. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cem\u003eOZONE\u003c\/em\u003e was remastered for CD by \u003cstrong\u003ePaul Waldron\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003eJohn Dardis\u003c\/strong\u003e for the \u003cstrong\u003eCargo\u003c\/strong\u003e label some time back, and is here re-digitised by \u003cstrong\u003eDaire Winston\u003c\/strong\u003e and the folks at Beechpark Studios. \u003cem\u003eOZONE\u003c\/em\u003e is a piece of history.
