In true arthouse fashion, the film premiered at the 1987 Cannes Film Festival to acclaim but never received a wide release.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eResponsible for the soundtrack is the legendary electronic kosmische outfit \u003cstrong\u003eTangerine Dream\u003c\/strong\u003e, led by \u003cstrong\u003eEdgar Froese\u003c\/strong\u003e. Throughout the 1980s they composed scores for more than 20 films, with many consisting of reworked material from either the band's studio work or tracks that were works in progress. Their haunting, complex, multi-layered synth work, combined with dreamlike vocals, proved to be the perfect accompaniment to the palpable tension between Diana and her family.
