Upon it’s initial release, \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eStereogum\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e put it perfectly when they said that “Guttering‘s six self-recorded tracks present some of the best aspects of both artists’ work, setting sighing harmonies against dense power chords and occasionally seasoning the mix with some twangy lead guitar.”\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFast forward to 2025, MJ Lenderman and Wednesday are two of the biggest names in indie rock. \u003cstrong\u003eWednesday\u003c\/strong\u003e had a break out 2023 with the release of their excellent \u003cstrong\u003eDead Oceans\u003c\/strong\u003e debut ‘\u003cem\u003eRat Saw God\u003c\/em\u003e’, which landed on a numerous year end lists. In 2024 \u003cstrong\u003eMJ Lenderman\u003c\/strong\u003e released his \u003cstrong\u003eAnti\u003c\/strong\u003e debut with ‘\u003cem\u003eManning Fireworks\u003c\/em\u003e’, which catapulted him into indie stardom. A string of sold out tour dates and an equally impressive list of year end accolades followed the album’s release.
