It’s heavy on the suspense and features the vital \u003cem\u003e“Hot Property”\u003c\/em\u003e, an insistent groove so good that \u003cstrong\u003eMadlib\u003c\/strong\u003e sampled it to lace the ace \u003cem\u003e“Long Awaited”\u003c\/em\u003e by \u003cstrong\u003eLootpack\u003c\/strong\u003e with \u003cstrong\u003eDilated Peoples\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003e“Sleeping Giant 1”\u003c\/em\u003e is a more fleshed out version of the equally-dazzling \u003cem\u003e“Fatal Error”\u003c\/em\u003e, evoking the orchestral magic of \u003cstrong\u003eDavid Axelrod\u003c\/strong\u003e. Indeed, it conjures images of \u003cstrong\u003eDiamond D\u003c\/strong\u003e falling over himself in the early-to-mid 90s to loop its intoxicatingly eerie soundscape. Complete with guitar fills that recall Paris, Texas-era \u003cstrong\u003eRy Cooder\u003c\/strong\u003e, you need this record for this piece alone.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe horn-and-flute-led \u003cem\u003e\"Tycoon\"\u003c\/em\u003e is a head-nodder and \u003cem\u003e\"Power Complex\"\u003c\/em\u003e has some fantastic percussion. Other highlights include the breezy glide of \u003cem\u003e“Whistle Stop Tour”\u003c\/em\u003e and its sister groove \u003cem\u003e“Clean Air.”\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOver on Side B is the more expansive \u003cem\u003eWind Of Change\u003c\/em\u003e, which includes the David Snell and the Alan Hawkshaw contributions. But these ain’t no filler. Snell’s shuffling \u003cem\u003e“International Flight”\u003c\/em\u003e sounds like a smooth \u003cstrong\u003eDorothy Ashby\u003c\/strong\u003e track tossed from the heavens. Hawkshaw’s \u003cem\u003e“Road And Rail”\u003c\/em\u003e is about as luxurious and strung-out as the great man gets and it might just be the highlight of this whole set.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNot to be outdone, if Mansfield’s \u003cem\u003e“Balance Of Power”\u003c\/em\u003e doesn’t make you feel like king of the world then you must be playing it wrong. Oh, and did we mention \u003cem\u003e“World In Action”\u003c\/em\u003e?!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs with all ten re-issues, the audio for \u003cem\u003eBig Business \/ Wind of Change\u003c\/em\u003e comes from the original analogue tapes and has been remastered for vinyl by Be With regular Simon Francis.
