Their Scandinavian genealogy is apparent as well - their intricate song structures seems to be branching off the same stem as \u003cstrong\u003eMotorpsycho\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003ePapir\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003eJaga Jazzist\u003c\/strong\u003e. And no doubt the young band has the chops to carry on the pedigree!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOpening track \u003cem\u003eA. Hausenbecken\u003c\/em\u003e feels like a sudden blast of refreshing nordic air, with its rolling guitar leads and growling Fender Rhodes. But Kanaan aren't afraid to get deep and heavy – the B-side dives into straight-up \u003cstrong\u003eBlack Sabbath\u003c\/strong\u003e territory, with \u003cem\u003eAct Upon The Mundane World\u003c\/em\u003e and \u003cem\u003eThe Groke\u003c\/em\u003e, before ending the album with the abstract, free-flowing title track \u003cem\u003eWindborne\u003c\/em\u003e.
