Songwriting duties were shared between \u003cstrong\u003eIan Dury\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003eRussell Hardy\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003eRod Melvin\u003c\/strong\u003e and a young American songwriter\/multi-instrumentalist \u003cstrong\u003eMichael McEvoy\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhilst performed by effectively a new line up there were many familiar names who worked on ‘\u003cem\u003e4000 Weeks’ Holiday\u003c\/em\u003e’.  Though \u003cstrong\u003eChas Jankel\u003c\/strong\u003e did not write any of the songs, he did play lead guitar as a guest whilst \u003cstrong\u003eEd Speight\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003eGeoff Castle\u003c\/strong\u003e, who had played on Dury’s seminal \u003cem\u003eNew Boots and Panties!!\u003c\/em\u003e LP in 1977, guested on guitar and Moog synthesizer. The sessions also featured celebrated reggae\/ska trombone player \u003cstrong\u003eRico Rodriguez\u003c\/strong\u003e MBE, whilst most of the recordings were performed by the ‘\u003cstrong\u003eMusic Students\u003c\/strong\u003e’, made up of \u003cstrong\u003eMcEvoy\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003eRhys-Jones\u003c\/strong\u003e, drummer \u003cstrong\u003eTag Lamche\u003c\/strong\u003e and saxophonist \u003cstrong\u003eJamie Talbot\u003c\/strong\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe single “\u003cem\u003eReally Glad You Came\u003c\/em\u003e” was released and the band performed on National TV inc The Tube. The album also contains “\u003cem\u003ePeter the Painter\u003c\/em\u003e” written on request from British Pop artist \u003cstrong\u003ePeter Blake\u003c\/strong\u003e, Dury’s former teacher at London’s Royal College of Art.
