The album was co–produced by the band \u0026amp; \u003cstrong\u003eJohn Spud Murphy\u003c\/strong\u003e (\u003cstrong\u003eLankum\u003c\/strong\u003e \u0026amp; \u003cstrong\u003eblack midi\u003c\/strong\u003e).\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003ePieced together like a collage over an extended period of time, the instrumentation was tracked mostly over a ten-day stint in Ireland at \u003cstrong\u003eHellfire Studios\u003c\/strong\u003e, in the shadow of the infamous Hellfire Club itself. They also used \u003cstrong\u003eDamon Albarn\u003c\/strong\u003e's, \u003cstrong\u003eStudio 13\u003c\/strong\u003e. Additional strings (\u003cstrong\u003eReuben Kyriakides\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003eNic Pendlebury\u003c\/strong\u003e), woodwind instruments (\u003cstrong\u003eAlex McKenzie\u003c\/strong\u003e) and vocals (including a choir made up of family and friends) were added to this framework at a number of locations, from a barn in Essex to Goat Girl’s own studio in South London.\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eSinger \u003cstrong\u003eLottie\u003c\/strong\u003e on lead track: “I was listening to lots of music at the time by Phillip Glass and Deerhoof that plays with the relationship between tension and resolution which definitely influenced this song. I was yearning for honesty and authenticity in relationships I held with people, probably partly because at the time, like everyone, we were so isolated from one another.
