A U.K. tour support slot with \u003cstrong\u003eThe Sisters Of Mercy\u003c\/strong\u003e gave them further exposure and more albums followed. 1986 found Flesh For Lulu signed to Beggars Banquet with producer \u003cstrong\u003eMike Hedges\u003c\/strong\u003e (The Cure, The Beat, Siouxsie And The Banshees) on board to help the now, classic-era line-up of Flesh For Lulu realize their Beggars debut, \u003cem\u003eLong Live The New Flesh\u003c\/em\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003e“. . . Long Live The New Flesh, heralded an artistic rebirth for the band which had formed five years earlier . . . The album, recorded at Abbey Road Studios, threw off the single, \u003cem\u003e“Postcards From Paradise”\u003c\/em\u003e which made the U.S. Dance chart and a second single, \u003cem\u003e“Siamese Twist”\u003c\/em\u003e attracted some college radio play, but it was \u003cem\u003e“I Go Crazy”\u003c\/em\u003e from the John Hughes’ film \u003cem\u003eSome Kind Of Wonderful\u003c\/em\u003e that gave the band their broadest American success to date gaining some chart action on the Billboard Alternative survey. The single preceded the release of the album and was added to the U.S. version of the record. On the back of the \u003cem\u003eSome Kind Of Wonderful\u003c\/em\u003e soundtrack, Flesh For Lulu toured with soundtrack-mates \u003cstrong\u003eMarch Violets\u003c\/strong\u003e, promoting both the soundtrack and their Beggars debut, \u003cem\u003eLong Live The New Flesh\u003c\/em\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003e“In a March 1987 Cash Box interview, Nick pondered the band’s direction in the wake of the success of “I Go Crazy”: “We really feel without compromising that we can appeal to a crossover of rock audiences.
