The recordings have not only highlighted the music itself but also presented the people who performed it, in mission houses, cottages and on the barn hill.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHere we hear examples of spiritual songs in a folk style performed by a man who definitely understood how such things could sound. Erik Hector has a very beautiful, soft and heartfelt singing voice, of course with a low-pitched r, which is hard to stop enjoying. On some well-chosen chorales he has enlisted the help of church musician \u003cstrong\u003eGunilla Hammarlund\u003c\/strong\u003e on the pedal organ, perhaps to get a little variety, and of course there is no more suitable instrument for this.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOtherwise, it's just Hector's voice and fifteen chorales, and regardless of what you think of the message, the lyrics are linguistically very beautiful. Exemplarily recorded, too.
