So when \u003cstrong\u003eDonald Byrd\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003eArt Taylor\u003c\/strong\u003e came through Paris on tour in 1958 they sought out Reece and even found their way into the recording studio together for what would become Reece’s \u003cstrong\u003eBlue Note\u003c\/strong\u003e debut \u003cem\u003eBlues In Trinity\u003c\/em\u003e. Encouraged by \u003cstrong\u003eAlfred Lion\u003c\/strong\u003e, Reece would move to New York City the next year where Lion quickly put him back in the studio with a first-rate hard bop band including \u003cstrong\u003eHank Mobley\u003c\/strong\u003e on tenor saxophone, \u003cstrong\u003eWynton Kelly\u003c\/strong\u003e on piano, \u003cstrong\u003ePaul Chambers\u003c\/strong\u003e on bass, and \u003cstrong\u003eTaylor\u003c\/strong\u003e once again on drums.
