These iconic songs have been covered by \u003cstrong\u003eElvis Presley\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003eThe Beatles\u003c\/strong\u003e (as a band plus George, Paul, and Ringo solo), \u003cstrong\u003eJohnny Cash\u003c\/strong\u003e, and so many more!\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAs great as many of these versions are from over the decades, arguably no one ever did these tunes with more swag than Carl himself on Dance Album!\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe SMASH hits include Perkins-written classics such as “\u003cem\u003eBlue Suede Shoes\u003c\/em\u003e,” “\u003cem\u003eHoney Don’t\u003c\/em\u003e,” “\u003cem\u003eMatchbox\u003c\/em\u003e,” and “\u003cem\u003eEverybody’s Trying to Be My Baby\u003c\/em\u003e.” The album also includes Carl’s covers of “\u003cem\u003eOnly You\u003c\/em\u003e” and “\u003cem\u003eWrong Yo Yo\u003c\/em\u003e.”\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eIntervention\u003c\/strong\u003e worked closely with \u003cstrong\u003eSun Records\u003c\/strong\u003e and the Archive Team at \u003cstrong\u003eIron Mountain\u003c\/strong\u003e to compile a completely NEW set of A\/B reel master tapes for this release. In the late 1960s, when \u003cstrong\u003eShelby Singleton\u003c\/strong\u003e purchased Sun Records from legendary \u003cstrong\u003eSam Phillips\u003c\/strong\u003e, the original 7″ single master tape reels were compiled onto many different sets of 1\/4″ tapes. Identifying any one tape as “THE master” for a given song is no longer possible, but hours and hours were spent by Sun and IR’s \u003cstrong\u003eShane Buettner\u003c\/strong\u003e listening to tapes and identifying the absolute best sounding tape version of each and every song. \u003cstrong\u003eKelly Pribble\u003c\/strong\u003e, \u003cstrong\u003eMark Berger\u003c\/strong\u003e, and \u003cstrong\u003eScott Delaney\u003c\/strong\u003e at Iron Mountain made flat 1\/4″ transfers at our direction to a newly minted set of 1\/4″ A\/B reels for this release.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAccording to our collective research, \u003cem\u003eDance Album\u003c\/em\u003e hasn’t been cut to vinyl from analog tape at least since the early 1980s, but perhaps not since the 1960s!
