She was the first female artist to have her own successful independent record label, Daffodil and enjoyed a five-decade career from the 1950s onwards, variously based in New York, Paris, and London.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIn the 1960s, she established her own publishing company, \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003eBlossom Dearie Music\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e which still operates and represents her catalog.
